The Wellbeing Foundation understands the interdependence of people and wildlife and its importance in the future of Kenya and our world. One of our projects focused on purchasing a water bowser (a 1000 liter water tank perched on a sturdy four-wheel-drive truck) to transport water to drought stricken areas throughout the Tsavo National Park where young elephants are on the brink of survival due to lack of rainfall. The project was completed in cooperation with and support of the Nairobi-based David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an internationally recognized organization that provides care for orphaned elephant and rhino calves, medical assistance to injured elephants and rhinos, and anti-poaching initiatives in conjunction with the Kenya Wildlife Service.
Our campaign raised $25,000, but we intend to gradually raise the full $100,000 needed for the purchase of the water bowser. You can help save these magnificent animals by making a donation for the water bowser and asking your family and friends for their support. Send our link to your Facebook, Twitter, and other social media friends. After all, without water there can be no life! Won’t you help us save the African elephant?
